Gold Coast Runners Weekly Events
The Gold Coast Runners host a weekend fun run/walk on Sunday mornings at Hollywood Beach and an evening session on Wednesdays. The Wednesday session alternates between Central Park in Plantation (fall/winter months) and Tree Tops Park in Davie (spring/fall). Refreshments are provided after the workout. Club workouts are structured for runners and walkers of all ability levels. Bathrooms and water fountains available at both sites. Sports drinks are provided at the conclusion of the workout.
Wednesday Evenings 6:30 PM
Our mid-week walk/run rotates between Central Park in Plantation during cooler months and Tree Tops Park in Davie during the late spring and summer. Runners and Walkers of all paces are welcome !
Note: The Wednesday run/walk location is currently Tree Tops Park in Davie.
This is our cooler weather venue in Plantation's beautiful Central Park. There is a 2 mile course entirely inside the park, so you can make it into a 2, 4, or 6 mile workout. A track is available for interval training ! Our group stretch is a great way to cool down and relax after your run or walk. We meet at the north end of the track. Park in the north section of the west lot. The entrance is a short distance south of Cleary on Central Park Drive.
Tree Tops Park is located on Nob Hill road approximately 2 miles south of I595 in Davie. This large county park is one of the few places to run on shaded trails in the local area. Alternate routes on paved trails will be used on wet days. Look for the well marked park entrance on the east side of Nob Hill Drive. The club meets near the park headquarters. Stay on the main road until it ends in the headquarters parking lot.
Sunday Mornings 6:30 AM
The club enjoys the sunrise on beautiful Hollywood Beach each Sunday morning, with the workout starting at the band shell. Run/walk any distance you like up to 9 miles on the boardwalk. An optional stop at Giorgio's to enjoy breakfast is a great way to refuel and catch up on the local running scene.
The bandshell is located at the end of Johnson Street just east of A1A. Free parking is available until 8 AM. Giorgio's is two blocks south of Johnson Street on the east side (an overflow lot is located a short distance south of the Giorgio's lot).
