Gold Coast Runners came about at the
request of local area runners. "The western and southern areas of
Broward County are starved for organized group runs," says Reneé
Grant, president of the club and owner of Runner's Depot. "We are
approached on a daily basis by customers wanting to know where they can
go for a group fun run. There wasn't anything formally organized
that we could suggest to them in this area."
The club sponsors twice-weekly group runs, races, and special events. Runners and walkers of all ability levels are welcome.
The purpose of the Gold Coast Runners is to promote, encourage, and support the sport of running and walking through a network of people and resources to educate the community on the benefit of the sport.
Members will enjoy club socials, parties, family picnics, potluck dinners, and special discounts with club-sponsored businesses. All members will receive the "South Florida Running Forum", a monthly publication for the south Florida running community. Guest speakers and fitness experts join us several times each year with timely advice to help you with your fitness goals.
Membership in the Gold Coast Runners is $25 ($35-family) per year. Group and corporate memberships are also available. All members of the Gold Coast Runners automatically become members of the RRCA. The Road Runners Club of America is a non-profit organization of over 600 running clubs and 130,000 members across the United States.
